Bantam Cochins...pullets??

Hi everyone!! I got pics of my blue, mottled blue and barred bantam cochins. I got the blue's from a breeder and they said they were old enough to "tell" they were pullets...the barred I got from the feed store. They are the SWEETEST chickens ever...so calm and shy. I am HOOKED!!!

Forgot to add the barred...She is around 4 1/2 weeks old.

I'm not an expert, but they look like pullets to me. I have one blue Bantam Cochin, and was sure she was a he, but nope. And yours have less comb than she did at that age, and aren't as pink. This is her this morning. I forget how old she is, but somewhere around two months.

Aww, thanks! It's surprising how good it makes you feel when someone compliments one of your chickens.

She is BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVE these guys...They do get pushed around a bit by my Orpingtons and I feel badly about that but I finally have all the chickens I want

I am so glad you all think they are pullets!! Three out of 6 of my Orpingtons I think are roos

No problem I don't compliment for the sport of it, I only say it when I mean it I really like her. I only have Standard Cochins - but bantams would be so fun to have

They all fawn over my barred rock cockerel... While my cochin rooster prefers the ducks.

But he sure is pretty!

Now, about that statement "I finally have all the chickens I want"... how new are you at this? Because I'll bet you a lavender cockerel that you have at least one new bird by August!

LOL!! Well I got a Light Brahma and Barred Rock two years ago from the feed store for eggs...and THEN I found out there were LOTS of different varieties...I then wanted Buff and Lavender Orpingtons...but my coop wasn't really big enough to put in new chicks with my hens so I couldn't get anymore. Well I JUST got hubby to finally build a new coop for me so I went a bit crazy!! And you are right I am thinking of getting another Blue Bantam Cochin this week...I just LOVE them and my little Buff is still under a heat lamp for the next week or two and I need to put the Lavender out 24/7 with the rest so the Buff NEEDS a friend!! That is how I justify my addiction!! I would have 50 if I could...Maybe one day. I have my hands full with 7 horses and 7 dogs!! LOL Hubby wants to kill me I'm sure
