I have ~ dozen little males from my May hatch that are in need of homes. These are bantam Easter eggers that come from non-hatchery bloodlines. Many of the birds I breed end up as children's pets, as 4-H birds, or with families that desire a kid-friendly rooster. Roosters from this flock tend to be cuddly, friendly, and sweet tempered!
Some of my cockerels have gone on to be "house chickens" and my current head roo loves to hang out inside and also to go on car rides.
My chicks are raised by broody hens and allowed to free-range in the yard so they grow up with valuable "chicken skills" and learn to be "predator aware".
Most of my birds are based on silver wheaton and carry columbian (if you are interested in the genetic aspects). Besides beards and muffs some of my birds also have crests. This flock originated in WI over a decade ago from pure Ameraucanas (but they are no longer considered "pure").
My hens are good layers of blue-green eggs. My roosters, however, are not very good layers
Although they are bantams they have proven to be quite cold hardy and survive winters in northwestern IL in an uninsulated coop.
About shipping - it's not that I'm unwilling but with current temperatures it is simply too hot to ship.
Location: Moline IL (Quad Cities)
