Bantam ID

Interesting-I have two of these and they look almost identical to each other. Neither have fluffy faces
That's neat. I've got 2 that are blue and one Mille, all with very fluffy faces. Yours are probably booted bantams, if I had to guess. And so pretty!

Can anyone help identify this chicken for us? It is full grown-came from a bin of surprise/mystery bantams. She’s about the size of a pigeon and flies really well. Cream color with grey/blue pattern, feathered feet. Thank you
How old is she? She's spot on for a Porcelain, d'Uccles, except for the head. The clean face and itty-bitty comb are throw-offs. She could be a booted bantam, but again, there's that comb.
TSC definitely carries both types, as I've gotten several decent ones through their mixed bantam straight-runs. My guess is she's a hatchery-quality booted bantam, but regardless, she's a VERY pretty bird!

i agree she does look like a young bootem bantam pullet:)

I'm not aware of any hatchery offering non-bearded porcelain booted bantams in the U.S., otherwise known as Sablepoots.

Chances are this is a porcelain D'Uccle that is hatchery quality and simply lacks the beard.

Doesn't really make much of a difference unless you intend to show. She's pretty either way.

I agree. I’m pretty sure their breed standards are similar enough where a beardless d’Uccle is basically a Booted Bantam but I believe the breeders don’t like this. I’ve stopped referring to them that way. I think calling her either is fine for a backyard owner but know she’s from d’Uccle stock :)
