What color Marans are they?

Black Copper? Wheaten? BBS?

They are cuckoo and the roo that was in with the hens was half black copper so i will probably get some blacks.

Somebody please post me a pic of a bantam maran. I think I got one in the last batch of silkie eggs I ordered.

I WISH you could get a bantam Marans from a hatchery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It took me a LONG time to track these bantam Marans eggs down.... only 5 serious breeders in the entire US with them and they do NOT typically sell eggs, chicks, grown birds, etc.....

I wouldn't mind seeing a photo of your supposed Bantam Marans though... You can search for Marans on google or you can go to the Marans thread and look at photos there. Where did you get your mystery chick from?


oh and heres another shot, color is sort of muted, but this is a good comparision shot.

2 eggs in front are 1 jumbo size store bought egg, and 1 bantam cochin egg. back 10 are from the bantam Marans breeder.

xy, I didn't get the eggs from a hatchery. I got them from a silkie breeder and those eggs look just like the egg the baby came out of ?? Probably not! But I was wondering.

Cause it darn sure ain't a silkie.

it might be a barnevelder or a welsummer. does it have feathered feet? what colors is it?

Lets see...it's like a light red or brown. Looks like its going to have lacing on its wings. It is the tiniest chicken I hatched.

I was scammed once by croocked ebay seller selling "Bantam Maran" eggs, they turned out to be standart eggs, and they were also so old they were rotten and stinking.
