Hello, I dont have a whole lot of chicken knowledge. I rescued a baby one day old bantam so he wouldnt be killed about two years ago. He stayed in the house in a large cage for the first 6 months but now he has a bed on the breezeway. The door gets opened every morning around 7 and closed at night around 7. He did stay in a coop but some sort of animals broke in 3 different times and attacked him. It was 3 days before someone saw the missing rooster signs I had hung and called to tell me he was in their backyard injured in the snow. But he made it through everything and now hes babied. I feed him crumble, delmonte canned corn and wheat bread daily. Let me know if this is ok. Also. Sometimes he opens and closes his beak. And sometimes he wheezes. Not all the time though. What would this be? Hes still being a little guard chicken as always though.

When was the last time you wormed him? Start with researching gapeworm (there are some excellent threads on here) and see if what you read sounds familiar.

I forgot to add that I have never dewormed him. I didnt even know you were suppose to until I read stuff on this site today. Im more familiar with parrots. I love him like a child though. Its strange that I have a thing for chickens. They are just so **** cute! I couldnt let him be killed. I dont like the way people treat roosters sometimes. Anyways. Any suggestions is fine.
