Bantam thread!

@Weeg and @HappyClucker7 I live in the Netherlands about 5km from the sea my high temprature are 33'c for a copple of days, my deep low is about -12'c for a copple of days. We can get a lot of rain becouse we live so close to the sea.
This is my second time I started a flock, the first succumbed to mareks. I had a cochin and a few Dutch booted bantams( loved them even here really hard to get!). I liked my cochin, but they are really known for their broodiness. So not so sure on silky and cochin becouse I will only buy vaccinated chicks/pullets.

Japanese bantams are fun. My Gray Japanese bantam is SUCH a sweetie to chicks being integrated. I have a friend who's rooster is really nice as well. He's a Black Tailed White Japanese bantam.

Because you get such cold winters, I would look into breeds like Brahma bantams, Wyandotte bantams, and Easter Egger bantams.

I have a poem about seramas:

(Clearing my thought...)

I really love Seramas,
with their soft and silky wings,
it chirps and cheeps and pecks about-
you'd even say it sings!

It reigns above every other breed,
(EE lovers I apologize-)
But no matter what anyone thinks,
the best thing is their size!

the jersey giant is just too big,
the silkie too much fluff-
the polish too polish-y
Oh man, I've had enough!

The wonderful loving serama-
which every chick lover loves,
oh, yes hail Serama!

I love bantams! I had a Cochin bantam, and even though it was sexed as female it was a cockerel, and quite aggressive. This was Becca (or Beckham, I guess)

Then these are my current silkies.... I love silkies! I have a splash(?) white one (Mochi), a partridge one (nutmeg) a black (eclipse) and a blue. (Pebbles)
The three later ones are 6 weeks, while the white/splash one is a year and a half old. I don’t know the genders of the younger ones yet.

You think that is cold? It is max for about 2 to 8 days than it goes back to normal -5'c and our winter only last 2.5 months. It's been years since the last time I could iceskate on nature ice.

Oh geez. My brain seems to be glitching today. I read Fahrenheit instead of Celsius.
Then I would say you could get things like D'Uccles, Seramas, Japanese bantams, Old English Game bantams, Polish, and Sebrights.
