Bantam White Crested Black Polish, MD

My spring hatches are 90% roosters but my fall/late summer hatches are 75% hens! Must be something in the MD water. chickenpea

So, what you're saying is, if I want to quit hatching so many roosters I need to move? Someplace cooler with lower property taxes?

I've only been rooster heavy with my Polish. I've been lucky with my Marans--I got a decent amount of hens, which is great because I need them all (didn't hatch too many total)!

So I guess this means no one wants my banty roosters, huh?

If you come up near Pittsburgh I'd buy one! I have a white Polish who needs a boyfriend...

But with gas prices so high I can't drive all the way down there...

Oh gosh, yeah, the "Burgh" is a good 6 hours from here. Way too far to pick up a boyfriend for your hen!

We do have some friends in Pittsburgh, but it's just too expensive for us to travel right now--we'll be sticking very close to home this summer!

MD is expensive. We're in an area that's not quite as expensive as many others, but it's gotten a lot worse in the past few years. Columbia is one of the more pricey areas--but it's beautiful, though!
