Bantams a good option if you don’t have the space?

If you are asking because you have a small coop, yes, but I can only speak silkies. You can put more silkies in there than you could regular-sized chickens.

Normally, the square foot per bird recommendation for a coop is 4. With silkies, it's closer to 3 square feet. We go a bit larger because ours can get locked up for weeks at a time due to subzero temps/blizzards.

Bantams require less space, food, water, and they also poop less. All of these equal to a big plus when raising chickens, but always remember that no matter the size, chickens should have space to forage. Bantams like to fly more than large fowl, so make sure they have high space.

Yes and no. Footspace, usually, but they like to jump and fly more too in my experience.
While smaller they still have all the needs of larger chickens like a proper sized coop and run, access to dirt to scratch and dust bathe in, proper feed and fresh water.
