I am thinking about maybe buying a couple of bantams at some shows I will be attending at. But I am lost on what breeds to look at. I really like the bantam cochins, but I am wondering what breeds would make a nice show bird with a nice attitude. Thanks!

I really like cochins, I have only bantams and have always liked them......I think they are a all around great bird. They make excellent show birds and are very competitive breed at shows, especially the blacks and whites. They are friendly, good layers, great setters(broodies) and excellent mothers:) Silkies are great too!

I only have bantams too. Cochins are my favorite. We also have Rosecombs and Old English Bantams...oh, and my showgirls. The cochins are very tame, easy going, gentle, slow moving, making excellent show birds. The rosecombs and OEB can be a bit flighty if not handled often...and showgirls (well, those were just for fun..for me)...they are a cross between a silkie and turken.

You just can't go wrong with cochins. I had mottles for a while, but the sun makes the white look brassy--which is not good for showing.

I like MGB. My rooster is the sweetest bird I have I think even out of my hens. I also like my Sebrights but their awfully noisy. I had Cochins years ago and the neighbor's cat got them but yes I did enjoy them alot too.

One of my favorites is white with little black speckles on her wings.
