You could get them and eventuly he'd realize that they are smaller than the rest...

My fav thing about bantams is the roosters, they are extremly hormonal and it dosen't hurt when they attack you.

The thing i don't like about them is the small eggs, but when they go broody I hatch LF eggs under them and their babies lay big eggs.

He's not in love with my banty rooster because of the crowing. I have a banty hen and roo mixed with my others. They hold their own. I have a Barred Rock roo and the banty roo. They work well together although I am planning to get rid of both. The BR Roo scares me. He's a little to aggressive for my piece of mind and the banty roo has to go to save the hubby's sanity! Good luck with your banty's!

If you want large eggs (for their size), get Brahmas - they are pretty big Bantams. Surpisingly, my Polish lays a very large egg for her size, as big as the Brahmas. I think my Mille Fleur D'Uccles are probably my sweetest "lap chickens", though. (my entire flock is Bantams)

I'm going to a farm swap tomorrow, and they are going to have bantams. Now how to convince the Hubby we need them....

I love the OEGBs. Not the fanciest breed in the world but they are very curious, sweet and hardy. The roosters take good care of their girls and the girls look like little doves. Plus, if you want tiny, these are tiny!
I've had OEGBs for a long time and will probably always have some in my flock, if for now other reason, for entertainment value.

I LOVE my bantam buff brahmas!!!! They do fine with the full sized hens, and the I agree the eggs are a nice size for a bantam. This surprised, because I have been told that full sized brahmas lay only medium sized eggs. Also, my bantam brahmas lay pretty well and have never gone broody. That, too, surprised me, as I got them more for fun than for eggs.. We eat the bantam eggs and sell the big ones.

Definitely get more than one! A single little bantam newbie will be terrified, and all aggression will be focused on her. A few friends will be less scarey for each newcomer, and also will spread the aggression of the resident birds over several newbies, rather than focused on one.

It would be pretty cool to see the difference between my standard Light Brahma and a banty Brahma

I just got some banties a couple of weeks ago as my very first chickens. I love my sweet little banties already. Such big personalities foe such small birds.
