I have a Barnevelder chick (born the end of April) that I just moved from her smaller enclosure to her new home/run. When I picked her up it appears her breast area is overly large and watery/soft feeling. I thought maybe it was just the breed but after watching her today, she is not eating and interacting/playing with the other chicks. Does anyone know what's possibly going on and what I should do. I'm devastated that she might be ill. Thank you!

The breast area you describe... is that just the crop? Can you check at night to make sure it is full and then again in the morning to see if it's empty before she eats?

Can you post a pic?

Coccidiosis is suspect when chicks act off. Sour or blocked crop could also be possibilities from your description. :fl
