Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

I was cleaning the brooder today and counted the chicks up. The last hatch had at least 20 blues, 14 blacks and one splash (test chick). It looks like I have around 6 blue cockerels and 14 blue pullets (It's still hard to tell a 100% boy vs girl).


Proud papa came up to see what all the fuss was about.

Okay, I have to get rid of one of my roos. I was hoping to break them up, giving them both 3 hens, however, due to a tragic dog accident I am down to 5 hens. So out of these two boys which if either would you keep? They are 8 months old right now.

Why can't you keep both? You could separate them into two breeding pens, give one rooster 2 hens and give the other one 3. Both are gorgous by the way

Rachael, both roos look pretty equal to each other from the pictures. If you have to pic one, I would choose the one with the best personality
