Barnevelder Love!

Hi, I bought my first Barnevelder this year from a hatchery as a sexed pullet. I know they are hard to sex so I thought this was the easy way. I don't think so. So cute, I named her Dottie. Thoughts? 14 weeks old now.

It’s so frustrating when that happens! This year seems awful for mislabelled pullets 😩 Definitely a roo

Right now I’m giving most a chance, but did cut down unnecessary ones out because of feed costs. Keeping a BCM, Welsummer, two Polish, a D’Uccle, a bantam Cochin, and a silkie. Regret selling one of the silkies though… Which is still a lot 😂 My laying pen also has the neighbour’s roo that moved himself in!

Poppy - our little Barnevelder girl who has been with us since she was one-week-old. We had to return her brothers.

She’s a funny little one. Follows the leader and always last to arrive.
