Hi

Fairly new to this.

I have hatched two barred plymouth rocks and they are around 15 weeks old now, i have read everywhere you can tell the gender by their colouration, one much darker than the other one, the lighter one is also slightly bigger too. However the darker one is trying to crow like my rooster, this is obviously not normal?? or has anyone experienced the same? or is she just a he?

Yes "she" is a he, agree with above post, you have two roo's. Lighter feathers with lots of white and light yellow legs and of course the crowing thing pretty much rules out any chance of egg laying, lol

More gray tone to the barring, the irregular head spot.

Another 2 weeks, you should know for sure - the comb should really start popping if it's a boy.

Thanks for all your help - I will wait a couple of weeks and let you know I really wanted a girl, to add to my breeding flock.

Thanks again
