Do male barred rocks get their feathers earlier or later then pullets?

She is feathering quite quickly compared to our golden laced... fingers are crossed!

Roos crow at different times, but mine started about 8 weeks...or a sort of choking sound!

Her tail feather point down... does that mean anything when deciding gender... I hope so...
