Barred rock chicken...hen or rooster??

Does this picture look odd to anyone? I just want to make sure it's not getting sick. We're dropping them off on Saturday, but of course I don't want anything to fall through the cracks! Any reason why it would be squatting like that frequently? I've noticed it more today than before...again, it's SO hot I can only be outside for a minute myself. And I might be imagining this, but the comb looks a little paler and drier.

Holding their wings out like that helps them cool off when it's hot. Make sure they have cold water.

that's not "squatting" in the "I'm getting sexually mature and showing submission and you can expect eggs here soon" sense.

That's just sitting down and taking a rest. Probably due to heat, the wings are spread to cool off.

I sit down more and fan myself when it's warm, too.
