How many ladies do you think I have among these week-old BRs? I tried to pick the ones with the smallest, most defined head spots. How do you think I did?

If they're barred rocks then they should all be female. But keep in mind the ability to tell the chicks apart by head spots is a trait that must be bred for, so unless you know this is being done then it's always a little iffy.

I hope you’re right! They are pure heritage barred rocks, but I don’t know if the head spot trait was specifically bred for…
 
Those are Cuckoo Marans.

The male has the blue band, males have little to no dark wash on legs, headspots are an unreliable way of sexing.
