So we let our little farmer(our six year old) pick out four chicks from our local feed store. Initially the store manager said that she thought that our black chicks were sexlinks...but that she was not sure. And they were supposedly sexed, all hens. After asking on this site the consensus was barred rocks. We for sure were surprised with one sneaky rooster in this group! But recently I started wondering about these two. They are both 9-10 weeks. There is no wattle development and they have very little combs (ccompared to our RIR Roo they look like hens). But I have never owned barred rocks (if that is what they are). Should I notice wattle development by week 9-10 in this breed? I am panicked that out of my new four, all but one will be roosters. Any help with sexing them would be great. I know my pics are not the best. IMG_20180425_083938816_BURST014.jpg IMG_20180425_083914754_BURST004.jpg IMG_20180425_083902589_BURST067.jpg IMG_20180425_083509665_BURST013.jpg

I think they are Pullets, I am pretty sure the roosters have more white because of their double barring gene. Also, if they were roos they should have development in the comb and wattles by now.

Thanks all. I have seen no indication that they are roosters, but I am certainly on high alert after our last Roo Surprise. I was actually excited to have a Rooster...but three would have been crazy!
