Barred Rock - Hen or Rooster?

A friend of mine had a chicken wander into his yard. He wanted to know if it was male or female. My first thought was female because I thought barred rock roosters were more white, but I really am not sure. This is the only picture I have.

Looks like a girly to me. My barred's already had very red combs when they were very young these are them when they where just getting their feathers in. But with that said I could also be wrong

Roos typically get very red combs very early in the game on some breeds.

Aww cool! Yeah I wish I knew how old this one was. I have two barred rock hens that I raised from 3 days old and I thought this one looked like they did, but I'm definitely no expert.

That looks like a pullet to me. I have 2 barred rock hens and they looked exactly like that one...
