Barred Rock - Is it a hen or roo?

But after seeing that crest and white earlobes
Makes me want to say legbar but he's too dark with no red leakage to be pure

Our barred rock is nearly 5 weeks old and I am still not 100% sure if its a hen or a roo, we really want a hen. Would love to know what you guys think.

We have 6 barred rocks (one is most likely a rooster) of the 5 that we are sure are hens they all looked similar to yours at 5 weeks (ours are 9.5 weeks now). The tail is disinctly different on our suspected rooster. His curls down and the feathers are more pointed where the hens are angled up like your barred rock does and are more rounded. Also, our rooster suspect is mostly white (I just recently had this explained to me, the white bar is twice as wide as the black in a rooster, in a hen they are equal width). I believe that you have a hen.
