Barred Rock or Mix up? UPDATE w/ Pics

I ordered several barred plymouth rock chicks from McMurray's Hatchery. They are about 5wks old now and one of the chicks is odd. All the other chicks have yellow beaks with a black spot or two at the base, yellow/gray legs, and have grown the black/white feathers. I'm still new to all things chickens but I thought 'barred' is the color. Is this correct? Could this be a totally different breed or just the wrong color?

Sorry, hopefully I fixed the pictures. I did have a rare chick but sadly it was DOA. This is my "odd" chick pictured below.

that's NOT a barred rock, sorry, it should have white bars going across it's back, check out the pic i posted, that's what a barred rock SHOULD look like.

That's definitely not a barred Rock! It looks like a mix with the black skin on the face and the yellow on the feet. I can't think of a breed that would look like that. Have you sent them a picture and asked what it is?

Looks like a Jersey Giant. Yellow feet gives it away. Australorps have pink feet but yellow feet when they hatch.

Murray McMurray appears to put Jersey Giants or other large breeds in for Packing Peanuts.

Don't worry! The ones I have were more docile than the BR's I had. And the roo's I've had never got mean.

I haven't tried contacting the hatchery but I will. I noticed when they arrived one seemed to have more black than the others but assumed that this was a normal color variation. All my chicks look like the picture chickenlover posted except this one.

Looks like you got two extra birds in your order. I agree it looks like a Jersey Giant. McMurray won't do much unless you didn't get one of the barred rocks you ordered. They might give you credit on your next order but they usually only do that for birds that die within 24 hours. Jersey's are nice birds too.
