Barred Rock Sex

This is our one and only barred rock so I can't compare it to others to see the differences. Can anyone tell me if this if this is a male or female and explain why you think this? It is about 3 months old.

Pullet. Cockerels are much lighter in appearance due to having double the barring genes. Also a cockerel this age would be showing much more comb and starting to show male specific saddle feathers.

Pullet

A cockerel would have a bright red, large, comb and wattles, and male specific feathering.

First picture is cute.
*pullet looks distrustfully at strawberry, knowing it was up to something*

At 12 weeks a cockerel from hatchery lines would probably be getting close to crowing if he wasn't already, so you'd know. The headgear would be very, very red.

This is definitely a pullet. The comb on a cockerel would be a lot larger and redder, also there are no signs of any early male hackle/saddle feather development so you have a female
