This barred rock should be very close to 4 weeks. It broke a leg at 1 week and recovered. Could that slow down feathering? The seller was confident this was a female, but I’m having serious doubts.

Does not look like a 4 week old chick to me. Looks more like a week old at most. How long have you had it? If it truly is a 4 week old it's not thriving. I would feed it 24% chick starter with chick grit nearby. Lots of clear clean cold water as well. Do you have any other chicks? It could be lonely. . . . .

Yes, thank you for your advice. This one bunks with 2 brahmas. Right now I’m feeding them 18% protein and they do have grit and fresh water. It makes me sad after I was so glad to see him/ her recover from the leg injury.

This last photo is from May 14th when she was probably only a couple days old. ( chick closest to camera)

The chick starter food is fine for the rest of your flock too! This one needs more protein and I would avoid any treats with corn. Just give mealworms, greens and natural stuff like that. Hopefully with the food and companionship this little turd will start to thrive! I'm glad that he is loved and has other chickens to teach him to be a chicken!
