Barred Rock with 5 toes? Is this normal? Is it a male or female??

Welcome to BYC! I just wanted to say hello to another mommy w/ 4 boys and 1 girl.

Is your girl the baby, too? We were done after 3 boys, but dd was a pleasant surprise.

LOL!! Yes my little girl is the baby, she is 21mo. and now I am DONE!!! lol, did I write 4 boys? Its 3 boys and 1 girl, hehehe! I dont want to add any additional children to the mix lol!!! Thanks Michelle

Dorking is the only chicken I know that is barred and has five toes.

Your chick is a pullet. As for the 5th toe, I will go out on a limb and say that she has a genetic abnormality. The toe is not similar to the 5th toe in any breed that I know of. The placement and shape make me think this is a one in 10 million genetic defect. Just an opinion.

I have one too! This is my Iris. Her legs look pink in the picture but she has yellow feet.
