Barred Rocks are a fine addition to a backyard flock.

How old are each of the birds in question? How large, feet by feet, is the area in which they are housed? Can you post a photo of the area where they are housed so that we can see what the environment there and looks like? How many feed and water stations are you providing?I've got 2 barred rock chickies and they're mean to the other 4 chicks. One of them is fat and she rules with an iron beak! She pecks the leghorn's legs until they bleed!! Such a bully. There's the 2 BR, 1 Leghorn, 1 RIR, 1 bantam with fluffy legs, and 1 black sexlink and the two barred rocks are the biggest and meanest of them all. Maybe they're a week older or something I dunno. I just know they're mean. They also fly at the other birds anytime they try to drink or eat. They chase them away from the food! I have no idea what to do with these bullies.

We bought them as hatchlings and they've all grown together. They were in a 2ftx2ft cage for about a month until yesterday when we finished the coop and moved them. We were thinking confinement as they got bigger was making them mean. We also bought bigger feeder and waterer for the coop so we will see how they do now. The fat one is still flying at the others but it might just be the pecking order.
