I love my BR hen too she's gonna be 2 in a week she lets me pet her even In the nesting box. And she's the only one in my flock that's been broody. I have silver laces and comets and she's the sweetest so now we are raising a BR rooster. Pictured above in this thread can't wait till he's grown. We are giving one of the two away to a friend

They are the sweetest birds ever! <3 I had a barred rock rooster but I didn't like him very much. I only had to hens though so he was supper over protective. My friend has a BR roo (Captain Awesome) and he is a big squishy sweet heart!

No, none of these birds are Barred Rocks. The reality is that many birds are barred. Given the fuzzy dull barring, it is safe to assume that there was one barred parent or grandparent bird, but that is about all one can say.

They're all mixes/mutts of some kind. To be sure, they're chickens. Enjoy them.

A true rock will have very clear lines of barring.
I hope you didn't pay to much for them.
