It is nine months old. The tail feathers look like rooster. The othet day I saw this one showing the hens where some food was on the ground.I am baffled.

I agree (if we are speaking of the lone chicken above...not the three in original post). Although the comb is pretty big, I don't see the tell-tale signs of a roo when it comes to the feathers. Age would help!I don't see any sickle feathers, and the body shape looks like a hen. I'd say a Hen. But I'm not positive.

Maybe it's one of those rare chickens that has both male and female characteristics? If it's 9 months old, I still say I think it's a girl...but...at that age she should have been laying by now. It's general shape tells it is a girl. However, it's comb is really red so I think it might be laying soon.
