Hi I was wondering what I would get with a barred rooster over easter egger hens. I don't think he's 100% anything as he has a beard a weird comb kind of a wiggly blob and I'm not sure on leg color. He's not the traditional black and white but more a mix of colors with the barring everywhere including his beard. Will the chicks be the generic sex link with them mostly being black or still like easter egger chicks with all the rainbow of colors? Any advice is appreciated or if there is somewhere I can get information on mixing colors and patterns because most have a EE roo over barred hens. Thank you all for the information.

The chicks will not be sex linked. That only works the other way around. Non barred rooster over barred hens.
All chicks will be barred if he is carrying two copies of the barring gene. If he only has one gene half would be barred and half wouldn't.
No way of knowing anything else without knowing the colors/patterns the parents are or are carrying.

WHAT I was pretty much asking is if they would all be the solid black almost as chicks instead of the EE chipmunk

Some pics of the female EE's.

WHAT I was saying was that without knowing their genetics you can't be sure.
Black is dominate over most so if no parents are black chances are the offspring will not mostly be black.

Ok and is there any way to find out genetics? Like the dog DNA test but for chickens?

With EEs Ive found it is like a Box of chocolates ..
You never know what colors you will get from the mix .
They could be all different colors ..
solids and or mixes of brown black red ..
But I like that

That's what I want I just wasn't sure if I'd still get it with a barred rooster that's what I'm trying to ask lol
