Basement flood - wet chicken food

So I’ve been storing my chicken food in my basement and recently it flooded and got all of my food wet. I know I can’t use it now because of mold, but what do I do with it now? I don’t want to dump it in the woods because there’s a fox around, but I feel like I’d be wasting it throwing it out. Thoughts?

It would be fine in compost, assuming your chickens can't get to it.

If it's got mold on it you don't want to feed it to anything. Throw it away.

I am not sure where you are but if your ground is not frozen you could rake it into the dirt and cover it mostly so nothing gets to it. Our ground is frozen solid right now but next week we will be in the 40's for a while so it might thaw some then.

Had a similar thing in my garage where I stored some spare feed. Threw it all away. I guess it can be used in composting, but that's not a thing I do.

This time of year you might think about setting it out for wild birds. I am thinking they are used to eating a lot worse than some moldy feed and it might mean the difference between life and death for them.
