BATOR vs. Broody on shipped eggs. Candling thru Hatch Pics!

Nice! Alrighty, glass is empty. Brooder is set to the requisite temperature and I am out of steam. <sigh> I'll check the egglets throughout the night, I'm sure, and report back in the morning.

Heading to bed as well... Can't WAIT to hear what the morning brings! Good luck sleeping tonight

I have not been on for a while. I am so glad things are going well so far. I do have some sad news tho. A dog got into my pen and killed all but 2 of my Silver Spangled Hamburgs. My rooster and one hen. It is nice to know that their babies are doing well. I do have chicks from them in the brooder now as well. Can't wait for an update, I need some happy news.

OMG, K. I am SO sorry about your Silver Spangled Hamburgs. That is tragic. If there is anything I can do to help replenish your stock, please let me know.

She's a mama!

I went out to the coop (for the third time this morning) and heard loud cheeping coming from inside the coop. Baby had escaped from under mama and was wandering around the big girl coop! I tucked her back under Freida and snapped a quick photo!

Your bator shots are amazing. And Freida's a MOMMA!!!!

Are there any more under her or was this the only one?

Thanks! There are two more under her. I moved her from the nest box to the kitty crate under the droppings board for greater security from now on. I'm still hopeful for at least three of the remaining four eggs.

What a perfect day for hatching eggs. And I bet Freida is enjoying it being a bit cooler than the heat we've been having lately!

How did Suffield do with the nasty storms we had a couple days ago? I just heard it WAS a tornado that went through Litchfield-Bristol. I can't believe we've had all these tornados this season
