Battery Farms and the Humane Society

I just have a question: If battery farms and most slaughterhouses are inhumane, why doesn't the Humane Society shut them down? Is there any way to make an online BYC petition that would shut down battery farms or slaughterhouses that are inhumane?

My wife is a bleeding heart animal lover and it took our local veterinarian to explain how full of it they are. Also you wouldn't believe how hard it is to get them to stop drafting your account. Had to close it finally. Don't be fooled. It's your hard earned money to do with what you wish but if you want to help animals donate directly to a local shelter and you will know where your money's going.


Sorry, that's off the topic. Just trying to shine some light on what I see as an immoral, illegal, organization whose base supporting members don't even realize how crooked they are. It really bothers me.
