Battery hen trouble breathing

Hello....
Chickens once stressed begin to show symptoms of illness that they are carriers for...You just got them from a warm place and now they were put outside without heat..New home etc...
A water soluble antibiotic will help with any secondary infection but not cure them..Respritory is not cureable but can be managed..

Thanks all for the lovely and helpful comments. Sorry I havnt been able to respond sooner.

Day 3/4 of her being on the antibiotics and she's doing really well, not having her droopy moments and opening her mouth nearly as much. As well she is getting more alert each day. She just likes to sit on her perch, eat, drink, preen and watch the world go by.

Though as to what chickensreally said and doing a little research myself. I'm going to take her to the vet next week after she finishes her antibiotics and see if there are any further underlying issues before hatching a plan of intergrate get her with the other ex bats. Better safe then sorry.

The other ex bats seem to be doing really well, there all looking very alert and love watching my vorwerks and lakenvelders through the fence. Only a few are going out the coop but when they have a heat lamp and it's cold outside, who can blame them. So am going to put a pallet sized extension on there coop so they can walk around a bit more inside.

Thank you all again for all the messages and insight, I really appreciate it.

really pleased to hear she's doing better. Make sure you take her to a vet with experience with chickens. Ex bats often take a while before they venture out of their coop. After all they have been inside cages inside a shed all their short lives and the outside world is probably rather scary for them.
