Nia whined, leaning her muzzle against Jake's shoulder. "I'm so nervous," her muscles were shaking.

"Honey, you'll be fine, I am sure you'll be the best mom ever, we'll do fine," Jake nuzzled close to her, "When do you think they'll come?"

Zalika offered him a lopsided smile before brushing past him and trotting towards the den.
Marzipan gave a frown as she passed but still followed her and Zola into the den.
Zalika had reached the maw of the den when a sharp bark drew her attention. She wheeled around, a frown darted across her muzzle. "What the-" Zalika gaped as a wall of wild dogs hit them, splitting and flowing around them like a river.

Jake came back an hour later and laid down some dried grass, and then, two hours after that, came back dragging a large bag of shredded paper,"I went to a place of the human's trash, and stole this, it works well for bedding. This should work, I'm going to get food." He ran out of the den.

Jake came back two hours later with nothing but a hare, he put it in a hole in the rock in the water hole, that kept meat good longer than laying it in the open.
