Battling hens!

Hmmmm...cream Brabanters seem to be a possibility too. I'm a little concerned about some of the ones you mentioned because their temperament sounds similar to Barred Rock, friendly to humans, bossy with submissive breeds.

Leghorns and Andalusians are nothing like Plymouth Rocks. They’ll do fine in your flock.

Will your walk in henhouse be on the outside of your run or inside it?
I'm dreaming of (read that "I wonder how many times I'll change my concept") of a 10 x 12 shed on the outside of the run. Finances will dictate diy or one from Lowe's. I've even figured out how to do it without removing a panel from the chain link dog fence run. I also want to build a chicken wire wall inside with a door so that you walk into the human door entering a roughly 4x10 room with feed, treat, and litter containers and room for other chicken related items storage. Also chickens cant sneak past me out the door.that leaves 8x10 for the chickens. Enough room for 20 chickens but i really think I'll be stopping at 12. I'm considering a dirt floor for DL. Maybe. I've got time till spring to change any ideas.

So today the rain stopped. I decided to finally let Fraggle rejoin the flock. Remember she was first separated physically and visually since November 7. Then she was brought into the guest house so she could be seen but still separated 8 days ago. I opened the coop door and she did some celebratory flying all through the run. Wynnie, the #1 wife, gave her a couple pecking order type pecks so she'd settle down. Thats when Fraggle saw Henneth. She attacked instantly. Henneth ran for cover. I sat for almost 2 hours watching Fraggle act like Henneth was the enemy, attacking and chasing. Henneth jumped onto my head. I put her on my lap where she sat for an hour feeling safe. When sje jumped down to do what chickens do-do Fraggle saw her opportunity and attacked. My original plan if Fraggle continues to be s bully was for hubby to hold her while I apply peepers. Hubby, unfortunately, is down with a fever. I cornered Fraggle when she went to roost in the main coop, picked her up, and back into the guest house she went. Might try peepers tomorrow. Next step would be rehoming.
I'm loving having a guest house. So much easier than the patio dog cage!

Get an Oriental Gamefowl hen..... she will rule the roost, put everyone in their place and restore order. If she's a good dominant hen than she would not tolerate others fussing around and will only peck at them when deemed necessary. Plus they are just awesome. :celebrate
