Bay Area BYCers!

Exactly! And it just is a bonus that they are so beautiful. I just love the breed. I was showing them to a friend a few weeks ago when I decided I wanted them.

From the breeder? his last auction was a dozen eggs for $1070.00

Possibly, I dunno where?

If people have bought from that source though there are probably others with eggs or chicks at a lower price.

How much do you plan on charging for chicks or eggs Cheryl?

no clue

Have you seen the Partridge/Blue Partridge egg auction that's going on right now Melina? Those are pretty, too!

Well, hopefully not $1070 a dozen!

It really is hard to put a price on something that you really love. If and when we do ever import Orps from the UK, I would want Diamond Jubliees or Wheaten Orpingtons. After I got the birds I honestly don't even know what I would sell the eggs or chicks for, I really don't even think I would have either to share with anyone for quite some time either. One I would need to build up my own flocks numbers, doing that with one pullet or two would be slow going. Not to mention, the UK type Orpingtons are not production birds, they don't just spit out eggs like your typical American standard Orp. They are slow to mature and produce a fair amount of eggs. That said, it would probably be at least a year or so after importing that I would have anything to share.

Sorry... I'm dreaming and getting ahead of myself! LOL. Can y'all tell?

Cheryl, you never mentioned what birds you are trading with the Brahma breeder, inquisitive minds would like to know!

I've discussed it extensively with some other friends. I do know he has an auction up. Not sure if I'd bid rather buy outright.
