We would be willing to help move Cheryl's coops and build a couple of runs for them if you (or anyone else) could provide a home for them! Maybe we could all pitch together to get them set up quickly! It is too heart breaking to think about what might happen to them if someone here can't take them in!

I will talk to DH and see if we can come down this coming weekend!

We can, Our only issue right now Is money, I know Cheryl has put a lot into these babies. Sunny the propert we are moving to is right next to the ranch where we had chicken stock., we have 5 acres that are wooded, but have plenty of space.

We can provide some free labor! I was thinking that maybe she could keep them as hers, for now, til she figures out what to do and someone could just house them temporarily for her...
I know you two cannot afford to purchase them. Just hoping to save them for Cheryl while she explores her options? IDK, I'm desperate to try to come up with any answer that might help and I know that's exactly what everyone else is trying to do too... Oh, I feel so helpless right now!

Oh, no! What a terrible thing to happen on top of everything else! Are they making you get rid of all of them? I'm willing to help in anyway I can. I wish that I had property outside of city limits so that I could house them for you. What about finding someone who is willing to let you set up your coops on their property for a small rent and eggs? I know that people in the Santa Cruz mountains who rent part of their land for horses, gardening, etc. There must be people in unincorporated Contra Costa County who would be willing to do the same thing.

oh my I can't stop crying, I really had no idea what a great group of caring friends I had...I have a multi million dollar presentation that I have to do tomorrow at noon, and I can't focus on anything.

I called the city to see if I can get more time but they haven't called back. I would love if the girls can stay together or go to some amazing homes or even if people can house them temporarily. I'll try to pull myself together and put a list together of my flock tonight.

You guys are my light, that keeps me from collapsing

Cheryl,

Could you possibly ask for an extension, with the promise that you are re-homing your flock ? Like maybe two or three weeks, until some of us can find maybe one place and help build some coops, et. al??

It would be nice to keep all the flock together for you!

Would it help if we wrote letters to your city councilmembers?

Man if I could afford the gas and could drive at night!

Got rear ended this morning too.

Not surehow I can help, but I'll try.

And Sunny that's a GREAT IDEA!!!!

Wish I had actually joined and not just lurked back when I needed to save my birds. You would have been a great help!

We have to save her from this. I hate to see her lose them after all she's put into them.

I doubt it, I've called the city and am waiting for a call back. I've emailed the letter to a friend that knows the code guy so maybe he can get me a few weeks

I am moving this week to a new house on 5 Acres, but I won't have a coop built right away. I wish I could help!

My husband has every tool known to man and he knows how to use them! I can ask him to help with rehousing if you need us to build something?

Well we have plenty of Space, and a truck and trailer. And can get supplies on a somewhat limited budget as far as building supplies, also FIL is a engineer and contractor, and always has supplies laying around, I'm sure sneek some away. If we weren't saving for my maternity leave right now it would be no problem. I mean we can afford everything for care, just wasn't prepared to buy building suplies right now, lol. In-laws are happy to help my donating their truck and trailer.
