How many chickens exactly are we making roosts for?

We are thinking some sort of ladder-style roost that could be either attached to the wall, or stand-alone so you can move it for cleaning. We need 2x4s for the roosts, and for the side rails, and then, the support system, if we're making it stand alone. We probably need #10 screws, 2 1/2", and 4 of them for each roost, as well as whatever we need for the support system, either to attach it to the walls, or stand-alone.

We will bring power tools.

Hello fellow Bay Area people,

I just wanted to introduce myself as a new chicken keeper in Oakland! Our coop is just about finished and we'll get our 5 hens when we get back from vacation in two weeks. I am SO excited. I've used this site/forum for lots of research so I just wanted to say thank you for all the advice and wisdom you've shared!

Best,
Emily
