Walt,
If you could please let us know, that would be great! I'm trying to decide whether to go Tues & Wed or Wed & Thurs. Maybe I should just go all 3 days!

Let me know if you are all coming up! Let's get together for breakfast, coffee, something! I am happy to organize, and if Walt will post when the judging is when he finds out, maybe we can work around that? OR, what day is best for you out-of-towners to come to SoCo?

A get together sounds good to me! We plan on being there 2 days and can work around whichever day works better for everyone else!

Calgal,
Yes I do know Kate. We just had a long talk yesterday since she is back from her wonderful vacation. She has alot going on for sure. I saw your goats. She brought them to my house after picking them up. She so loves her animals & has so much get up & go. Ahhhhhhhhhh the me of 20 years ago....!!!!LOL
What Silkies do you have?? Magarete (kfChickenLady on the Calif.N.Central Valley/Foothills thread) loves Buffs. I have a few B/B/S started chicks I hatched & my quartet of whites. I am hoping to get a nice flock together eventually.
I think there is a lot of interest in the Swedish Flower hens. I am so trying NOT to get into any other breeds, but instead to cut down on the breeds I have. I would love to settle on 12 or less breeds I really like so I have a ways to go. I know I will always have Marans, maybe 3 varieties, pure Ameraucanas, again 2 or 3 varieties, Delawares, Exchequers, Light Sussex,Black Minorcas.Black Australorps, White Rocks & Dominiques. I think I want to get some LF Salmon Favorolles. I have shipped eggs in the incubator. I want English Orpingtons too & have shipped eggs in the incubator.............Gosh, how many is that?????? I am probably already over my goal.
I am too old to want to start any lifetime projects so I am deleting my White Marans, BLRW, Blue Andalusians. I am unsettled on the Barvelders, Mottled Javas so far I am keeping them to learn. I am always in transition trying to do better & better. I am taking alot of my extras to the auction soon. I have been studying them & making lists of what needs to go.
As far as all the California threads I love visiting them all but am always looking for close by connections. I pop into others as well to lurk & learn & say Hi now & then. Bay Area & the one Margarete started are daily reads for me as well as Northern California & them I jump around a bit into the breed threads to check things out. I just don't want to be sitting here all day & that would be easy todo....LOl
Have a good day

Off the top of my head I am going to say Laurel Zepp out of Bend Oregon. They are B/B/S & I got the Favorelles from her too & she sent surprise extras too that were Lav Orp X Lav Ams. I have a friend hopefully waiting for them, but you know how I feel about shipped eggs so we will see. The last shipped eggs I ordered I paid extra fro coolpacks.

I've never heard of them. I know Joy and Julie both sent eggs and possibly birds to an Orp breeder in Washington, so I'm sure their stock is floating around up there too.

You should hatch some lovely chicks. Good luck! Once you have the English birds you won't want anything else!

I loved talking to Kate. She called about my birds and we must have talked an hour. OK Karen knows, with me that's a given. LOL

I bet those goats have a great home with her.

I think we all have the "Oh, I want one!" disease. I know I do. So hard to pick just a couple of breeds and then when the varieties are an option, oh brother. If I had the room the two of you had, I'd be in trouble. Thing is I hope that happens in the next year or two. First time I saw the Swedish Flower chickens I told Bill I had to have some. I love those birds.

I had so many clear eggs that went into lockdown this week. I had like 3 dozen and only 14 (some I couldn't candle) made it. Don't know why, but every SPPR and bantam Fav had bloodrings or were pretty early quiters. So upsetting.

I'm trying to remember to take my phone out with me so I can get some pics of some of the birds today. I tried this week once and every single one was so blurry I deleted them. Those little suckers sure can move. Hoping to get a couple of quail pens together with some scap stuff this weekend and also fix a run area for my dogs. It flooded this year and I still don't have it fixed enough for my doggies. Lots to do and I have at least 63 quail eggs going in the incubator today. Hopefully I'll find a few more when I get out there this morning. I can barely move today, so sitting here waiting for an Excedrine to kick in.
