Bay Area BYCers!

Look what we found when we fed the ducks last Sunday! We had left her eggs with her as she seemed to be sitting on them, but it was not too consistant so we really did not think they would hatch. So cute - first time hatch with a broody, duck or chicken.

Awesome Karen!

I love waking up to babies in the bator that it's always such a nice surprise. The make sure to post some pictures!

I am a terrible picture taker & usually defer to my husband or grown daughter to do that for me. That's why I never had you help me sex all my Ameraucanas. After waiting long enough it does start to become evident & I have sexed & separated all my Lavenders now & have the Black splits & blue to do now. I will be keeping alot of the Ameraucanas for awhile to see what developes. I will keep the BCMs & Wheaten Marans except for culls & extra cockerels because I have a waiting list for them all the time.
I have filled my new shed already & could do it again so have alot of cutting back to do which is sooooooooo darn hard for me.......LOL
I plan on going to Santa Rosa on the 13th I think.

I think chicks are cute, but there's nothing like a duckling for uber cuteness. Always makes me think of a comedian in the 80's that would say "It's just a baby duck" or "I'm just a baby duck while he talked to a duck puppet. Wish I remembered his name.

Looked him up on youtube........James Thomas Organ

Dawn,
Are we meeting up at Omlette Express or at Willie Bird's?? Willie Bird's will have more parking and is closer to the fairgrounds. But, let me know what's best for everyone else.

OK, I think Daphne has a point. Willie Bird restaurant is close to the fairgrounds and has better parking, so let's do that. I will call and reserve for 10 people (to start), so let me know if you are coming (PM is good!). Since Walt says the judging starts in the afternoon, shall we make it 11:30, then can head over around 1pm?

Here is the address so you can all google map it if you are not familiar:
1150 Santa Rosa Avenue
Santa Rosa, CA 95404
(707) 542-0861

show opens from 11am - 9 pm. Chooklet and I plan to be there as soon as the show opens as it seems there a full day of activities. What about meeting earlier say 9:30 for breakfast so we can still have time to walk the rest of the show. I realize that may mean a very early morning for some.

I'm really interested in growing potatoes in a container and getting heirloom seeds. I wonder what the food/lunch situation will be inside the show. I would hope and imagine because this show is basically about growing your own food source that they may have a great place to eat inside?? I'll try to research as an alternative if others are interested
