I am open to whatever is decided. I just need to plan my departure time accordingly. I haven't looked to see how long a trip it is for me yet.

Cheryl I'm not a big fan of mixes, but he's adorable. I love chocolate colored dogs.

Toss an h at the end. That's how my son's name is spelled. Old Oglala.

Well, it finally happened! My 23 wk old BW Ameraucana roo (Lemon Drop AKA LD AKA Big Boy) that I got from Jeremy started crowing! He crowed one short crow 2 or 3 days ago and then today spent 15 minutes perfecting it with crow after crow. Unfortunately, we have a noise ordinance here in Antioch and neighbors who will call the city on us if we have a roo. If only he had been the rare rooster who only crows one time once a day, he could have stayed here with his harem.

Does anyone in the Bay area want him? Kim has said that she will take him if no one else wants him. I am willing to drive an hour to deliver him to you. My husband is heading back to Santa Cruz for the week later this afternoon and could deliver him anywhere between here and there. Here are some new pics of him including one in the sunshine to show how gorgeous his colors are! He is missing his long tail feathers thanks to a couple of my older hens.

And one pic with his little sister, Cosette.

A friend of mine said she heard about a farm nearby that takes roosters and has a "no kill" policy. So, it won't just take them and butcher them. I'm trying to get the name from her and as soon as I do, I'll post it. I also had a worker at Alamo Hay and Feed tell me that if we ended up with a Roo, he had a friend who would take it. Maybe give them a call. Can't vouch for what they would do with it though.

Thanks I've never been a fan of mixes either, but he's not an american but australian labradoodle and they have perfected this particular breed standard, so while it is a mix, the breed is standardized so that after 20 years they have predictable results. Very cool... I've never been patient, chickens have taught me to be somewhat more, but I'll tell you between the Tolbunt polish eggs in the incubator and the waiting for this puppy I'm going nuts!
