Bay Area BYCers!

You're lucky yo have the brewers help. Wish I could find some near me. I love all the gardens around there. Where I grew up, it was so nice for blocks except the block behind our house.

Emeryville has been one of the biggest changes since I've been an adult. It was pretty bad all over and then they go trid of all the old cool buildings and put condos everywhere. Price jump!

You should totally reach out to any local brew pubs in the area. I found these home brewers through Craigslist. I put an ad up asking for spent grain. and got about a dozen replies - about half of which were from mom-pop brew pubs, but they were too far away, and they wanted me to take waaaay more grain than my 5 chickens could reasonably eat before it spoiled.

And I can see waht you mean by the area changing quickly - there's another mega-condo complex going up where an old brick industrial space use to be....

Slight change of topic here, but I have finished building my coop.

So now I have some nice leftover building materials for anyone who wants them. Otherwise I will list them on FreeCycle. I can't stand to throw this stuff away!!

1/2 sheet T1-11
2 almost half sheets OSB
some smaller but still nice-size pieces of T1-11 and OSB.
Maybe 6-8 3+ foot pieces of 2x3 and 2x4

There is probably enough to build a nice size dog-house or something. You can even have the leftover nails and screws if you can use them.

PM me if you want to come by and pick them up. I live in Walnut Creek.

Very cute and so nice of you to make your offer to other chicken people!

What a beautiful coop! It looks like a story-book house..

Oh thanks. I really appreciate it. I was telling a colleague (who also has chickies) that I thought it looked like a fancy outhouse. He said,"Well that's what they are gonna use it for!" HaHa! I guess he's totally right!

I forgot to add that I also have most of a roll of roofing felt anyone can have. Home Depot will sell single shingles but not small rolls of felt!

Hey everyone!

For anyone in Sonoma county/around here- I volunteer at the Sonoma County Animal Shelter in Santa Rosa and we have a GORGEOUS rooster and 7, 2-month old ish chicks looking for homes. All mixed breeds of some sort, the chicks are pretty friendly I think there are 4 girls and 3 boys guessing by feathers and combs.
