Do you still have Orpingtons? You had Jubilees, right?

Yes, I still have the Jubilees, and the Black Orpingtons. I can not imagine living without Orpingtons. Hopefully, late spring I will be doing some breeding. When we met, you were quite busy with your studies, and am guessing you have completed your degree.
Jeremy, when you, and your partner are in the area, please let me know. Would love you to visit, also see the birds.

I hope, tomorrow morning you wake up to incubator full of fuzzy joys. After all these years, every hatch feels like as if it the first time.

Four are out now of the six LF eggs I gave her! Two Marans and two Pita PIntas!




Will bring down the most likely looking four eggs from the old Brower incubator and see if Ethel can coax them out tonight. They should have started hatching, but nothing yet.

They are beyond cute! Chicks are such a joy to have.. Do you know the sex of the Marans chicks when they hatch? Lual

Not at hatch, no. But in my experience, the Marans dudes usually show up pretty quickly. I used to have this great photo of my original rooster, Lil' Joe, as a 7-day old with a SERIOUS comb already! Hysterical!

Had one hatch overnight from the eggs I brought down from the incubator (EE x Spl Marans) for a grand total of five. Three more have pips now, one is peeping but no pip, and Ethel has rolled one EE egg away and it is cold. Hoping for 3-4 more chicks by tonight, day 22!
