Well, unfortunately my boss has decided that she's going to head out there by herself and leave me here so we don't have to pull our daughter out of school.
Bummer!
Maybe we can all get together another time soon.... next time with better planning and more notice!
So... remember the Wheaten Penedesenca chick I got from Mrsfoote?
I originallly thought it was a cockerel due to the way it was feathering in... well now that it actually is growing real feathers they all look to be coming in brown...
& that means he is actually a she!
It's still a bit early to be 100% sure on its gender, but I'm thinking there is a good chance it's a little pullet! It's feathers are for sure brown, dark brown, but still brown none-the-less. A Pene cockerel would be feathering out black!
I am SO excited!
If it is a pullet she is going to be penned with my BW Ameraucana rooster in hopes of making some Pene X Ameraucana Olive Eggers!!!

Oh good... I thought we were... but didn't know if there were more. Sorry din mean to scare you.
And, can I sit your chicks?? I have a decent sized brooder. How long are you gone? Where??
Hi Laurie,
Thanks for the offer! I will let you know if I need to take you up on it. We are going to see my family in FL for a few days. Not sure if my #1 son (I also have #1 daughter...one of each, so they each get to be #1!!
) will still be here or not, so give me a few weeks and I'll let you know. Also, if I happed to have another broody, I will try to give them over to her. They do such a good job! See Mama and the Fab Four today out on a foray???
Rob, another trip to Sonoma County is surely a possibility... come in the Fall--during grape harvest!
