Bay Area BYCers!

This is really a great distraction...I'm a nervous wreck, I'm the hospital right now

My Dad was brought in this morning by ambulance.
congestive heart failure, lungs full of fluid brought on by acute kidney failure. He's getting a dialysis shunt installed right now

It's a great distraction thinking about chickens while I'm in the waiting room

I would but I'm sure your wife gives you enough for all of us.

Well, you could say that...

I figured. I know I give my DH plenty, or used to, now I'm getting old and tired so I just roll my eyes at him and he giggles like a kid. He gets a kick out of pulling my chain every now and then.

Oh.

So, I just had the doorbell ring. "Your chicken is in the court." "What court?" Turns out one of the wellies decided, while I was in grabbing some lunch, to fly over the fence and cross the road next door, the road being something court. It took four of us to catch her, given that she doesn't know me as "she brings the treats" yet. They were all very nice ladies though. And one guy whose yard she was in, watching "the floorshow" as he called it.

She's home now, and penned up in the old coop so she doesn't go wandering. It's got a nice grass floor so she can peck there to her hearts content.

yeah I keep my new ones in for almost a week and you may also consider clipping her wings..it's very very easy

Yeah. I would normally do that, except Buffy and the Big Girls wanted out. And of course, the nesting box is inside. So I can either let everyone out or keep everyone in. And it was such a nice day out.

I guess when DH gets home the Dutch girls are getting their wings clipped. I did it for the Big Girls before. Just hadn't for the new ones. Silly chicken.

I've got workmen in the attic, chickens in the coop and freeranging, and a sick DS in his bedroom. The dog wants to "help" and the cats are just disgusted. Oh, and the kitchen is a disaster area. I need to get off my fluffybutt and go do some dishes.
