I can relate! That's why DH and I are taliking about moving to Ecuador (when we retire)! They are sooo mellow!
Well that and the cheap cost of living, the fantastic weather, the tons of delicious organic fruit (that is sooo cheap), the benefits for retirees, the sweet folks that live there, the safe environment, etc, etc...

That stinks! That's how it was getting every night in San Jose by the time we moved away. Ghetto birds were out every night and sirens were always blaring somewhere in the neighborhood! And we lived in a pretty good area!

I don't miss that!

Seriously! We are planning on building a casita for guests since building costs are so low there. Just don't count on anything getting done quickly there though! That is the flip side of living in such a laid back country. No body rushes to do anything.

Still I think it's a small price to pay to ditch the stress of trying to survive financially here!

So if we send you a ticket will you at least come visit?

No. Ran that area when I was a teenager but the worst area is at 7th and James I think it is? Close to SJSU where I worked and went to school. I didn't know how it got labled as so dangerous til I had to work late one day!... Not a pretty part of SJ.

No

I agree! So few places to go like that any more. I was supposed to buy 20 acres in Balize ...geez 20 years ago and walked away from it. Stupid me.

It there a police station on 7th?

Can't remember. I was in SJ a LOT back in the day. I also worked on Santa??? San??? What street is that. 2nd runs paralyl from it and the train stopped behind my building. Near a theater and a Mexican resurant with the best Albondigas anywhere. There was a Woolworth right across the street from my building.
