Bay Area BYCers!

I've got 13 babies and 2 more pips this morning.

I think I have a couple of blues, but not sure yet. Electricity in my garage is shorting out my brooder lamps. Completely burned out! I now have 21 chicks in my livingroom under desk lamps.

Thanks to Denny I think I have some Cuckoo Marans to offer. They're clean legged.

I have 3 out of my dozen from the Stockton show out. One has the darkest legs I've ever seen on a Marans. Cute little FBCM. I'm hoping pullet. I need more pullets.

Jeremy have you had any luck finding your girl?

No Dorota as of this morning, I've sorta accepted the fact that she probably won't be coming home.

I have a couple eggs that go into lockdown this weekend, I think I'm going to get a Polish chick from Melina, too. It won't be the same as Dorota but at least I'll have another little poof head running around to remind me of her.

So Cheryl, does that put you at four breeding pens now? Or are you going to be cutting a breed from your program?

How are your neighbors taking to all of your birds?

Those Brahmas are lovely.

Thanks well so far we've only had 3 weeks of crowing, I'm going to do a big egg distribution for goodwill this weekend!

I have only 2 breeding pens right now
#1 is 10 coronations - I'm getting rid of 2 roos in that pen - so 2 roos over 6 hens
#2 is 3 silver penciled plymouth rocks.

I'm getting these buff laced brahmas...pen #3

I have started and chicks of the wheaten marans that when feathered will be breeding pen #4

AND I've found a great line of mille fleur leghorns... pen #5

so the answer to your question, YES I will be probably get rid of one of the breeds... I've got a lot of time and money in them so I'm having a hard time with it all. Might be the wheaten marans I give up, don't know. I don't need to make any rash decisions as they are just babies now

I'm still highest bidder on alicefelldown's auction

Hope it doesn't go much higher. My high bid is the most I can come up with and that's pushing it.
