So sorry for your problem. I know I would be devastated. I hope you don't lose your disire to raise the birds. I gets so much enjoyment out of it even with the disappointments. It was 104degrees here yesterday & I lost 3 BCMs cockerels. Another hot one today so they say. I will put the misters on earlier. I do hope the rest of your birds survive & recover to go on to be even stronger.

Hey Steff - you posted a few days ago looking for a Mereks vaccination - did you get your chick/s vaccinated? I just bought some vaccine on line, and will be doing mine on the 2nd or 3rd. I may have a couple of friends bring some as well - even quartering the tablet, I will still have way more than I need. We can have everyone keep the chicks in a box so as to not cross expose them, if you would like to bring yours as well. I have a friend who is a vet tech, she does not know it yet, but I am going to ask her to shoot them - I have never done it myself. If she can't, I know a couple of nurses who might do it.
I know they were supposed to be done at one day, and some of mine will be that age, but I also read that it is better late than never.

You say you got a tablet of vaccine. Hmm, I didn't know Marek's vaccine could be ordered in tablet form. I had to get a vial of vaccine that had to be delivered in a refrigerator pack, then diluted in a special diluent. Let me know how it goes.

If my new hampshires are done hatching I probably vaccinate on sunday?? Anyone is welcome to share.

This is just what I've done in the past, based on things I've read...I have even gotten older hens that I've purchased and vaccinated them. I've used the same dosage. IDK

I have definitely vaccinated older hens. Heck, a few times I have even ended up vaccinating myself, and once or twice I have vaccinated Cheryl! (she makes me hold the babies myself when I vaccinate now - wonder why?)
