I have Silver Laced and Blue Laced Reds. Only one is a mature hen, but I think she's quit laying to molt. One is laying, the biggest egg I get almost every day. And the rest of the herd should start laying any time now. They're breed stock, not hatchery, so it takes longer.
I don't have any problem with their temperaments. The older hen got her tail pulled out, but I added her to the flock as an adult. She gets along fine now, and I'm anxious to see the result of this molt. The younger ones are funny in that they only hang out with the other Wyandottes, and one Wheaten Marans. Might be an age thing.
My bossy ones are all EEs or hatchery Buff Orpingtons.
