Wonderful news....well sort of...While I was out at the coops yesterday working, ginger came crawling out from under somewhere!!! She must had heard me down there and felt safe. She has badly terribly attacked. Over 10 large lacerations. One huge one but the vet said none of them went into her body cavity so they didn't even stitch them...however because she was outside for over 2 days maggots started laying in the wounds so she had to be treated for that and she lost 1 1/2 lbs. (I had weighed her just last week) She was dehydrated and had a bad infection. So she's at home now in "my hospital" she has pain meds and baytril. This morning she was standing for a bit!! She is such a lovebug, she's got to pull through.

Additionally it's also great to no that we don't have a human predator.

They're stronger than you think Cheryl. My English Orp hooked herself on a nail and had a terrible gash in her thigh - she recovered fine and I'm sure your girl will too.

Thanks Kim, she is just resting, not much movement. I'm giving her every treat I know of, she'll take a nibble then stop and rest. I can see this will be a long process. I think the next few days will really show weather she'll make it or not.

Or a positive note, I've got Silver Pencils hatching like crazy - 6 so far!!!
