Okay Jeremy........out with it..................what are you looking at? I am not into Bantams myself either ....you know how I like BIG, but I do have those John Blehm lavender Bantam Ameraucanas. I will be selling them though in my reorganizing & cutbacks. I actually have some empty grow out pens & only 1 set of eggs left in the incubator. Everyone is growing up fast.
It's taken me
3 years to source them but I think I've found a breeder who is willing to share Wheaten Japanese bantams with me.
I plan also on getting solid Blue Japanese bantams which I will be crossing with the Wheatens in order to work on adding the Blue gene into my line in hopes of creating a Blue Wheaten Japanese bantam. Carlos and I are very excited, years ago his grandma raised what he thinks were Wheaten Japanese in Southern California. She unfortunately lost all of her birds when the Avian Influenza scare happened down there. The county came in and culled every single bird (that they could find) in Riverside County without even testing them for the disease. She lost so many different breeds that she had for years. I can't imagine that happening.
Dawn, I found a few pictures for you.
This is Norbert as a chick, I can't remember if I shared this with you.
This was one of Frenchie's first eggs, they've only slightly lightened throughout her lay cycle.
We're processing our first rooster today, wish me luck!
